I do not live anymore—it is Christ living in me and the life that I am now living I live by faith in the Son of God. He loved me and gave himself to save me.

Galatians 2:20

Life is so intriguing as we hear comments such as, life is what you make of it, life is treating me badly, life is a drag and what sort of life is this? We seem to blame life for all woes. Is this the right way to view life? Do we have power over how life unfolds or does life lead us unto unknown paths?

The acronym L.I.F.E is living in faith on earth. This means one has the power to choose and manage the life he/she wants to live by. Is your life faith driven or is it facts driven or both? If  life is driven by both, which has the superior power? Faith or facts. Paul came to the realisation that true life was not dependent on “facts or titles” but true life was driven by faith as he declared, “I do not live anymore…..but I live by faith …….” Paul, previously had a life based on facts and self confidence. As he experienced living in faith as a better lifestyle, he declared,

“Whatever I used to count as my greatest accomplishments, I now consider worthless for Christ… I now regard all things as liabilities compared to the far greater value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord …..” (Philippians 3:7-8)

What were Pauls’ greatest achievements which are now liabilities?  Circumcised on the eighth day, from the people of Israel and the tribe of Benjamin, a true Jew… The law was important to him and being a Pharisee (Philippians 3:5).

The framework of life for Paul prior to faith were his culture, tribe, country of origin, knowledge of the law and being a Pharisee. On meeting Jesus he chose to lead life in faith. What is shaping your life? Family, finance, education, country of origin, the laws of the land?

These, create unhealthy emotions such as fears, anxieties and unhealthy comparisons as was seen with Paul when he set out to destroy the disciples because of their belief.

It’s time to come to the life of faith in Christ, for He lives in us and teaches us to acknowledge His will. We can achieve this life by heeding to His will. Paul did and enjoyed life to the fullest saying, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7).

Take the path of faith and be bold enough to take risks with the word of faith. As you walk in faith may you see beyond the ordinary and attain greater heights which will bring Him glory. Lead a life of faith. Amen.
